How to Create custom MIME types on cpanel

MIME is an abbreviation of Multipart Internet Mail Extension. When you create a web site of your own on the internet you have a file extension of your file. File extensions are used to label files by their type, origin, and possible uses. For example :- if your website is text file then the MIME Types equates to .tx , .txt extensions on most of the servers by informing your browser to interpret all the files of your website with those extensions as text files.

You can alter or add new MIME Types specifically for your site but the system defined MIME Types values cannot be altered even if you want to alter them. As the new technologies are coming in MIME Types can be very helpful as they can handle the new technologies. For example: – When WAP technology was introduced, no one had these extensions set up on their server. If MIME types were available even you could have set it up yourself and began serving WAP pages immediately. This is the benefit of the MIME files. Below are some simple which will help you to create a MIME type.Creating a MIME type:-
